“Yesterday I voted to confirm Janet Yellen as Secretary of the Treasury following a lengthy phone call with her. Our national debt is a growing and real threat to our economy and national security and Secretary Yellen acknowledged to me that she does not believe it is sustainable and significant steps need to be taken to address it. My hope is that leaders on both sides of the aisle and the Administration will consider addressing the national debt in a thoughtful way as we move forward.
