Mike Braun was sworn in as Indiana’s junior senator Thursday.
The former state representative beat Democrat Sen. Joe Donnelly in November’s hotly contested race.
Braun said he’s looking forward to getting started after a long campaign. There are several areas of policy he’d like to help shape.
“Infrastructure is important, cost of healthcare … I’ll be on committees that will weigh in on that.” Braun said. “And I know a lot about the cost of healthcare – in my own business I took on insurance companies.”
Braun is the 50th senator in Indiana history.
